A research-worthy problem statement is the description of an active challenge (. problem) faced by researchers and/or practitioners that does not have adequate solutions available including the argumentation for its viability based on solid peer-reviewed sources as well as theoretical foundation. The research-worthy problem statement should address all six questions: what, how, where, when, why, and who. On the other hand, a statement of the problem is one or two sentences claim that outlines the problem that the study addresses. The statement of the problem should briefly address the question: What is the problem that the research will address?

In the conversation, the students discussed how their education was different from other types of education. They then went on to talk about the use of more technology in school. This led to talk of Facebook, which led to talk of the differences in online or “non-physical” interaction. As the conversation progressed, more and more interesting comparison/contrast essay topics came to light. Remember, this kind of interactive application can not only be used for compare and contrast essay ideas, but for high school essay topics of any nature.

First Day of Secondary School - Original Writing

I was so excited yet so terrified at the thought of my first day in
secondary school. It felt much to me like my first day as an adult,
the first day I ever felt grown up.

As I packed my spanking new bag full of spanking new pens and pencils,
I couldn't help but think would all the rumours about head flushing,
bullying and heaps upon heaps of homework be true? I guess I was about
to find out.

Sporting my smart new navy blazer, white shirt and tie I slammed the
door behind me and swiftly scurried to my friend Vicki's house. I
knocked on the door and when it opened I could see that all my
anticipation and excitement was being shared in Vicki's head, which
put me a little at ease. We proceeded to the car and embarked on our
first ever ride to Bishop Fox's Secondary School.

As we drew nearer the school the pathways far and wide were brimming
with school children. Were some of these strangers going to become my
new friends?

We pulled up at the entrance. It looked so big compared to my old
school. How was I ever going to learn my way around?

Since we were the new kids, we had to assemble in the school hall with
the rest of our year to have a talk with our head of year. It was easy
to find as it was just through the foyer. We pushed open the bulky
doors and suddenly a wave of deafening noise came gushing into my
ears. Mobs upon mobs of children were all over the place. Everyone was
in their friendship groups from primary school, and we found ours
after several minutes of pushing between the herds of kids. There was
the unfamiliar whiff of a new place in the atmosphere.

...ld fail me in every exam and hold a grudge against me for the rest
of the year. I worked in silence for the rest of the lesson, and it
went by at a snail's pace.

Following the worst lesson of my life so far, the rest of the day went
by surprisingly fast. My next lesson was art and we just looked at
different paintings, followed by lunch where we gossiped on my
scolding in science.

My last lesson was Drama, where we just went round telling each other
our names, where we came from etc etc etc. It was then such a relief
when at three twenty the bell went to go home. I had done it. I'd got
through my first day at school with only a few minor pushes in the
corridor and just one piece of homework.

I met up with Vicki outside the entrance and walked home pondering
about our next five years in Fox's Secondary School.
